Composite is defined as two or more engineered constituent materials
with different physical or chemical properties, which remain separate and distinct,
are combined to make a finished structure. The two types of materials making up
Composite materials are referred to as “matrix” and “reinforcement”. At least one
portion of each type is required to make a finished structure.

All of the above manufacturers are members of the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC), the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and all are Energy Star Partners, which is a program sponsored by the Department of Energy. These organizations set the standards for the entire window and door industry, which includes critical quality testing and energy performance.
